Major Project No.3 - Project sign off approval
Hello,
to my blog again. In today's Major Project No.3 post I would like to tell you a little bit more about my major project, visualise the idea and show the plank of the assessment.
To begin I have to admit that this decision I have made to create the final version of my project schedule wasn't the easiest one. It was the first time in my life when from the beginning of a plan I should had written out the base that I will be using in the whole process. That step meant that I can't change a topic or a title of a project. It also required from me to be fully prepared to present my concept to the teacher, what included: answering the questions and negotiating the terms.
The two days before the project sign off I decided to have a look one more time at the wide range of available digital tools for my virtual class for younger students. I tried to find the best solutions that gives the students the opportunity to learn, but also to be suitable for those that have diverse learning preferences such as: visual, auditory, read/write, kinaesthetic. It is crucial to teach effectively, do not send students to sleep, but make them feel that they contribute to the task., they interact with each other, they enjoy the lesson.
Here you can see my project schedule and the progress on my blog so far :)
1. Animated video stays in mind.
My view of a point led me to the BBC website that launched the huge program aiming at English grammar learners at the age of 11 to 14 years old. The whole campaign inspired me to find my own direction, my own path to use the animated video as the introduction of subject. I realized that use of colorful moving and 'speaking' imagines absorbs the viewers and stays in their minds for long. For that step I decided to use the Animaker website which is used to make funny, animated videos with a voiceover and music.

2. Flipbook - the digital book
In the next step what I found was the Flipbook - the digital tool available to use it on my portfolio website to create e.g a book. That program gave me the idea to organise the content and make it clear what each class is about. I experimented about 10 minutes with a Crello app to make the draft version of a Students book in a pdf file and then I used the flipbook to transfer it to website as a digital, online 3D book.
3. Play Kahoot and learn from Quizlet.
As the extra activities I decided to choose the apps such as: Quizlet and Kahoot. Both of them I used more the on time as a high school students and from my own experience I can say that this way of a revising the knowledge worked for me and the majority of my classmates. Quizlet is an app that you can gather the vocabulary and repeat as the flashcards or in a game mode. It is easy and it is fun. Kahoot is a game for the group of a people that can be used to rival with the participants. This app is useful to increase the involvement throughout the lesson time, it enhances the concentration and focus on the exercise.
THE PROJECT REFLECTION - PROJECT SING OFF WITH A TUTOR
During the project sing off the tutor recommended me to use the another tools: PowerPoint and the online libraries such as TES and the DMU Library that I might will need to finalise the assessment. The teacher pointed out that I should create a presentation which will elucidate the topic of a lesson and show it to the students. The tutor also suggested me to research journals and articles in my subject area and then add the used resources in a reference list.
The piece of an advice I was given by my tutor helped me a lot to organise my schedule, point the right way I should follow and made me realized that I have to be focused on the task to create it in time , thanks to my complicated, but informative and the extended idea plan for my major project plan that you can see here below:
