Major Project No.2 - Initial research
Hello!
In today's post I would like to introduce to you a few sources I will be using in a process of a my major project creation. I have started my research by looking for the academics books, journals and internet websites which will might be useful to start working on my project.
Firstly what came to mind was to search for some ideas in my university library database. I went onto Library DMU website and log in. The online platform showed me a loads of available reading essentials, but I had to choose wisely, because the time for my project is determined, so there is no time for uneccesarry actions.
In the search engine I wrote in phrase 'Digital education' what is closely related to my main topic of a project. What suprised me a lot was; I found an interesting online source soon afterwards.
1. The book 'Learning Rebooted : Education Fit for the Digital Age' by James Penny. In description I found the information:
It seemed to be a relevant and reliable choice for me , so I added that book as the first one on my list.
2. In the Kimberlin library datebase at De Montfort University I found a book called: 'Teaching creative writing: [ideas, exercises, resources and lesson plans for teachers of creative writing classes]' by Helen Stockton. That one caught me attention thanks to its practical application and the wide range of ideas that could be use to diversify the lesson content.
About the book:
'This practical book will provide an invaluable resource for teachers of this increasingly popular subject as well as leaders of local writers' groups. It provides a wealth of ideas on lesson content, including 'ice breakers', group rules and starter activities, and examples of actual exercises that can be used, with suggested adaptations for different abilities. There are tips on group management, giving feedback, setting boundaries, and dealing with any difficulties that may arise.'
3. Searching for another source I decided to look for it in a google scholar browser. I tapped in the search engine as the tile 'students language 11-14' and I found the research from the Çukurova University in Turkey titled 'Students' Language Learning Preferences' by Erdogan Bada & Zuhal Okan. I chose that that research, because I believe it would help me understand the learning preferences of the young students that my virtual class will aim at.
source: Students' Language Learning Preferences
That are the all sources: the two books about a digital education and creative teaching and the one research on a topic - learning preferences I decided to include to my project so far. Soon I am going to read them and use them for my own assessment. In the next posts I am going to attach my project schedule plan regularly to show my progress as you can notice here down below.

Thank you for your attention.
Great to see you have used the library catalogue to source information for your project. Please make sure you discuss more in-depth on how these sources informed your work when you create your project work.
