Photographic sequences collage No.1

The main inspiration for today's post was Eadweard Muybridge (1830-1904) the one of the great photographic thinkers and technical pioneers of all time.

An explorer of humans and animals in motion pictures. The well-known artist for pushing the limits of camera’s possibilities, creating collages such as:

Eadweard Muybridge, Animal Locomotion, Plate 626, 1887

Eadweard Muybridge, Boxing, open hand., 1887

Task:

● create a sequence of at least six images using your mobile phone or tablet/iPad.

● consider how you could create your own sequential imagery.

● Plan and sketch out your ideas on the paper provided

My process of creating photographic sequences collage started
with making a sketch plan on a paper.
The idea included six photos in a one frame one cell for every image.
The title should be visible located in the centre of the photo
with a clear font and matching size.
Estimated time for completing task 30min.

After sketching a plan I had taken a few probationary photos of my hand touching an old door handle. I used a Black&White filter to change the stylistics. I rejected blurry, underexposed imagines and added them mixed into one collage, as you can see down below.

In the next step I sorted out the photos in a right order (the same as in sketch plan) then sized imagines and black spacing.

In the last step I created my own title for this collage 'lock am down' that expresses the anxiety, dread, loneliness, sadness people that have been put in a lockdown for a long time, because of Covid-19 pandemic.

  1. Your research should discuss the work of the photographer more in-depth. What have you learned from looking at the work, and how is this related to your own work? Please make sure you add more commentary on the work of Muybridge.

In your blog post, you have copied and pasted from somewhere else, which is why parts of the text are highlighted. You need to edit this in blogger and highlight this text and then clear the formatting - you do this by going to the menu, more options and then clicking on the 'T' with a strike through it.
