20 ideas in 20 minutes

Hello, in this post I would like to share with you my last class exercise called '20 ideas in 20 minutes', which was introduced to me to create some initial ideas for my project.

To begin with please look at my filled table here

For that task I had only 20 minutes, so it is quite difficult to sketch my ideas, I hope you don't have a problem with understanding my scribbles and drawings. If so, here is the explanation of  some of them that I found the most interesting.

1. Infographics about pop culture and current trends.

Create an infographic about 2020 pop culture and trends appealing to the audience inspired by artwork of Mikey Burton - a designer and illustrator and best known artist for his cooperations with big brands, such as Converse, The New York Times, Starbucks, The Wall Street Journal and more. Here is the one of his artwork about fiction novel main character - Harry Potter, who revolutionised people's life and became a huge trend, especially for teenagers from around the world in the last decade.

2. An article on mass media influence on the audience.

Write an article about mass media impact on a society, the positive an negative effects and its meaning in the 21st century, based on the academic sources e.g from Google Scholar and inspired by Dennis McQuail - a British communication theorist. Here it is a link to his article, that seems to be helpful to me in completing my own writing.

3. A women's lifestyle magazine on a serious issue.

Create a lifestyle magazine for women with articles about serious issues such as social pressure, cyberbullying or mobbing. Here underneath you can see the Vogue British edition magazine cover grabs the reader attention, fight with a stereotypically beautiful image of a young celebrity and replace it with an elderly woman photo. On its cover we can see clearly displayed repeated word 'age' and related to  it a discrimination against individuals or groups on the basis of their age called - ageism.

Comments

  1. You cannot do an infographic as a project as you can see from class that does not equal a whole terms project work! Also you can't do a whole women's lifestyle magazine as that would be too big - you need focus here on one things that is in depth and will work within the time limits so I am sure some of these ideas here can be made to be more specific and in depth to work towards a SMART outcome
