Hello!
In today's post I was given a task by my tutor to find 3 interesting facts about my Buddy Blog, which is mariakaratzia.blogspot.com kept by Maria Karatzia. With Maria we will be working together, commenting our posts each other in the next weeks on our blogs, to improve them and help develop it.
About Maria:
Maria is a young 18 years old, friendly girl from Cyprus. This year she moved out from her home country and started her IYZ in Media in the UK in Leicester. She choose this course to fulfill her life dreams to become a journalist and create her own TV or radio show. Studying Journalism will prepare Maria for taking interviews from famous people and discovering the latest news. She believes that writing a blog is her first step in the further career that would be beneficial.
In a free time Maria loves to play the piano and the guitar occasionally. Music is a huge part of her life, but we shouldn't forget that; she is also keen on taking photos of nice landscapes or object that she found interesting.

3 Interesting Facts About Maria's blog
1. Maria's major project 'Feature News Article on the financial impact of Covid-19' will be an article (1000 words) about the impact the Covid-19 had on people's finances based on some scientific sources and stock/copyright images from Unsplash referenced correctly and her own perspective as a future aspiring journalist. The article will aim at target audience, which will be adults ( 25-45 aged). For the article she will be researching a wide range of journals, online texts in the subject area and visit the library. The digital software she will be using is Lucidpress as a template to present the final piece.

2. Portfolio Website
Maria has started working on her own website to publish there her final major project that will be marked. To create that she used Wix website and chose the template she finds both interesting and suitable to her further progression route and customised it. In 'About Me' section she added some details about her life story, current situation as a student and future career plans. On the website draft version she gave some contact details to send her a message if someone has any queries.
3. In one of Maria's posts about adverts, I have seen an alluring example of the charity advert, on which I had the pleasure to give the feedback during the class time. That one caught my attention and seemed to me that I was looking at a professional company's campaign promoting to adopt dogs.

My commentary on her work:
'It is nice to look at your piece of work. At the very first sight it seemed to me that I just found a professional animals shelter advertisement to promote adopting dogs. That abbrevation 'AAD' it is a suprisingly brilliant idea; how you can include what is it advertising in a few letters. The underlined words such as: the secret, love, care give the right message and it is clear what that this text it is about. The photo which you used it has a high quality and realistic colors what makes it even more attractive.'

This is an okay introduction to your blog buddy but could be improved by adding more detail on her progression route and interests. The three interesting facts could perhaps focus more on Maria's interests in Journalism and media and her future goals. Also, please make sure you add a little more detail on why you will be working together with your blog buddy.

ReplyDeleteYou have not uploaded any work this week and you are behind on the work at the moment. The blog needs to show your project development, further research, and your website development/feedback etc. Make sure you add all of this to your blog before assessment.
