Major project no.1 - Initial ideas generation

Hello!

In today's post I am going to generate some ideas for my major project for Digital arts course. For brainstorming part I will use website Milanote to visualise the concept and show the content that should be included in project. The final result should be related to my progression route which is English Language.

The project should include:
  • continuation route ( be in a subject area)
  • challenges
  • creativity
  • development of showed softwares/digital skills
  • sketches/drawing/writing/screenshots/contact sheets about the process
  • all sources and reference list
My first ideas board below is related to the topic of remote learning. I decided to write an essay of 1000 words describing the techniques how to work effectively in a home office.

After consultation with a Digital Arts tutor, I realized that my concept does not aim to my next year course directly and it should be more extensive.
I updated the project completely and made the second board.

As my major project I am going to create virtual sessions (one class 1h) for young students with a use of a wide range of digital tools. The softwares and programms I will be using are Animaker to create animated short films about the topic of a lesson, Quizlet for studying new vocabulary, Kahoot app to play games and check the students knowledge and crello to make the online student book with grammar exercises, definitions, reading and tasks.

I believe that project would give me the opportunity to change the roles and understand what does it mean to become a teacher. I hope that thanks to that I will develop my digital skills and create my first animated video with my own voiceover.

In every major project post I will add this document to visualise my progression and provide the necessary details in tables.

  1. You have started to look at some interesting topics for your project but I do feel like you would limit your opportunities to explore digital tools and techniques by writing an essay. Consider options such as creating a magazine article on the topic of remote learning or writing a lesson for a virtual class to present to younger students (aged 11-14 years) on English Grammar. This would include a PowerPoint, an activity, at least two handouts and you can also include flashcards (you can make these digitally) if you wish. These are just examples but they give you an idea on how you can include digital tools for your project.

Please remember that websites such as Pinterest and Behance are not academic sources.
